The shared event wallet prototype

Good times.
Shared money.
One pool.

Planning a trip, birthday or big night with friends? PoolUp explores a clearer way to bring the event budget together, name who can spend and keep the whole group in the loop.

Prototype only. Simulated money, no live card or payment connection, and no real funds moved.

Same people. Bigger moments.

The idea

One shared event pool

A named spending role

One ledger for the group

The proposed flow

Less money admin.
More being there.

No more piecing the plan together from messages and separate receipts. PoolUp is exploring one shared flow, built around the way friends organise an event.

Prototype status

Simulated money.
A flow to test.
No real funds.

01

Start one pool for the plan.

Friends contribute to a shared event budget, so the group can see the plan in one place.

02

Give spending to an authorised person.

The organiser assigns who is responsible for spending. In the prototype, the digital-card step is simulated.

03

Keep a shared record.

Log each event expense with its receipt, then let everyone follow the same ledger.

04

Reconcile after the event.

Test the closing balance and whether any leftover is eligible for return. Eligibility and outcomes depend on the rules being tested.

Prototype / simulated money

A sandbox for the hard part.

PoolUp is not a live wallet. The event-pool, card, expense and receipt features described here are not available in the signed-in app yet. The launch concept is a test flow using simulated balances.

Spend-role tests

Explore how an organiser assigns an authorised spender and models the digital-card step without a working payment card.

Ledger and receipt tests

Exercise how simulated expenses and their receipt records could appear together for the group.

Reconciliation tests

Compare simulated contributions and expenses at event close, then test which leftover amounts might qualify for return.

Clear limits

No real funds, live payments or merchant card use. Eligibility is conditional, and returns are not guaranteed or issued by this prototype.
